WASTE REPURPOSED
BOARD SOCKS ARE MADE OF PLASTIC.
These plastics take up to 200 years to break down in our landfills and oceans. Extensive amounts of harmful chemicals, carbon emissions, microplastics and fresh water consumption result from the average board bag.

THE PROBLEM
The global textile industry creates 66.1 billion pounds of plastics, consumes approximately 60.2 billion pounds of cotton and releases 2.7 trillion pounds of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere annually.
Every year, approximately 15% of textile production is discarded to landfills, in the forms of cuttings, trimmings and manufacturer defects. This amounts to a massive waste of potentially reusable materials that can be repurposed without further perpetuating the environmental impacts.
Pure Waste
Our bags are made of 100% recycled fibers, meaning no newly produced materials need to be used in manufacturing, preventing the continued negative environmental consequences of new materials.

CHANGING THE INDUSTRY
By using recycled materials, Pure Waste has recycled over 1.2 million pounds of textile waste, removing 480,000 pounds of plastics, saving 1.1 million gallons of fresh water, and reducing 5.2 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions" (December 2021).
