THE PROBLEM

The global textile industry consumes approximately 27.3 billion kilograms of cotton and releases 1.2 billion tons of greenhouse gases into atmosphere annually. Every year, approximately 15% of textile production is discarded, mostly in the form of cuttings and manufacturer defects. This amounts to approximately 4.1 billion kilograms of potentially re-usable cotton that ends up in landfills.

Pure Waste

We've partnered with a Helsinki-based pioneer, breaking new ground in textile recycling worldwide. Their operations are based on collecting and recycling cutting waste from textile industry where it is generated, in India. The collected cutting waste is sorted, processed and manufactured into high-quality textile products.

Pure Waste products are made of 100% recycled fibers, meaning no virgin material needs to be used in manufacturing, inspired by the deeply ingrained and admirable Nordic recycling culture.

QUALITY GUARANTEED

The recycled textiles are sophisticatedly manufactured to offer superb quality and comfort comparable to those made from virgin materials. No dyes or chemicals are added to our products. The recycled fabric embodies the color of the original waste fabric. The waste originates from factories operating to Western standards, so there's no need to be concerned by the term. The fabric is also washed and spot checked consistently. We are committed to instilling confidence in your purchase.

CHANGING THE INDUSTRY

The textile industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world. It is an industry stuck in the Dark Age — however, there is hope for change.

By using recycled materials, Pure Waste has recycled over "489,265 kilograms of textile waste, saving 3,878,439,600 litres of water and 2,375,400 kilograms of CO2e emissions so far" (December 2020).

Join the fight and support products that make a difference.

Ethical Responsibility

The Pure Waste production process is humane and ethical, driven by a rigorous code of conduct. Setting a new bar for working condition standards guaranteeing fair living wages for workers, benefits, healthy/safe working environments, and prioritizing voluntary working hours.
